One morning, a decade ago, I found myself walking into a gym in my hometown of Thrissur, Kerala. I was a shy 15-year-old and expected nothing. But trainer Vipin Das at Team Universal Fitness saw something in me, and decided to take a chance. Under his generous guidance, I started training in physical fitness and found myself winning first place at a district level body-building competition the following year. Through this time, I discovered not just a change in my outer self, but a need to explore the greater transformative effects of exercise on the body, mind and emotional spirit.
And so, from there, it was natural that I gravitated towards the study and practice of yoga. I was fortunate to meet my guru V.K. Suresh of the Sankya school. From him, I learnt the principles of hatha and therapeutic yoga, and the discipline and precision of practice. I also became interested in the regenerative, healing qualities of ayurvedic massage therapy. Most importantly, I received a firm foundation in meditative techniques. This awakened in me a deeper spiritual awareness and a keen desire to share my knowledge with others.
In 2010, I moved to New Delhi as a trainer with the Bharat Thakur Artistic Yoga company. For the next two years, I gained valuable professional experience in teaching a contemporary style of traditional hatha yoga. The structured format is popular around the world and has proved very effective for weight loss, body toning and stress alleviation. I am grateful to Bharat Thakur and his team for providing me with this unique platform to grow through a diverse range of opportunities and with clients from all walks of life.
A turning point came about in early 2015, when I qualified as an E-RYT (200 hours) of the ashtanga yoga primary series level from the Abhijna School in Varkala, Kerala. Under the mentorship of senior teacher Mahesh Chandra, I was inspired by the many benefits of this beautiful, powerful style of practice : core and muscular strength, flexibility, agility, balance, concentration and peace of mind.
At present, I offer dynamic ashtanga vinyasa, hatha and therapeutic yoga classes that integrate asanas (postures), pranayama (rhythmic breathing), chanting and guided meditation. My teaching style encourages correct physical alignment, the coordination of deep breathing with flowing movement, and an overall awareness of the body-breath-mind pattern. I also design special health programs for weight loss and a range of holistic massage therapies (ayurvedic, thai, shiatsu) for individuals with specific needs.
It is my dream to continue this rewarding journey of enabling others, and also to learn and grow from the many experiences of students and teachers around the world.

Ashtanga vinyasa yoga is energetic synchronising breath with movement.the individual poses are linked by flowing movements (vinyasa). A type of yoga based on eight principles and consisting of a series of poses executed in swift succession, combined with deep, controlled breathing.
